The author, Bess Vaughn Clark, at the 89 Annual Celebration of the dedication of the Peace Monument. At the request of the Commandant of The Old Guard of the Gate City Guard, COL John S. (Jack) Gibson, Mrs. Clark presented information about Twiggs County Confederates, including Dr. Elias Jones Denson's remarks about the Peace Monument. Shown with Mrs. Clark, is her son, Francis G. Clark, Jr., representing the Atlanta Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution, who laid the SAR wreath commemorating the event.
