Tour of 1850 Twiggs County plantation . . .

Thanks to the generosity of Dr. and Mrs. Charles Duggan, Jr., their antebellum home,  Hollywood Farms, in Twiggs County near Jeffersonville,  was open to the public for a family oriented day in the country .   The event was sponsored by the Federated Garden Clubs of Macon. This event was an opportunity to "step back in time" and visit a plantation in Twiggs County.

Hollywood, named for a large grove of American Holly trees located nearby, was built by John Chapman in 1850.

Bess Vaughn Clark (seated, center) discusses her books and the history of Twiggs County with the hostess, Mrs. Charles Duggan, Jr. and guests.
